Kenneth Powell joined Knudtson & Associates in 2008 as Of Counsel, after 35 plus years as an accomplished litigator in Southern California. Mr. Powell has personally tried in excess of 100 cases to a jury verdict which have encompassed aspects of private, public, administrative, business and commercial litigation. These cases have included professional liability/medical negligence, motor vehicle accidents, products liability, premises liability, employment discrimination, inverse condemnation, wrongful death, sexual abuse and insurance coverage. Mr. Powell is AV rated and has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 1987. Mr. Powell received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the California State University, Los Angeles, and his Juris Doctorate from Whittier College School of Law.
Katherine L. Marlink is an associate at Knudtson & Associates. Since joining the firm in January 2016, Katherine has focused primarily on defense litigation involving premises liability, medical malpractice, and general personal injury. She has prior experience as an attorney in insurance defense litigation and creditor’s rights. Before electing to pursue a her legal career, she worked in biomedical research, as a veterinary technician, and had earned an EMT certification. Ms. Marlink attended Portland State University where she earned her Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Social Science. She has also completed significant course work in chemistry, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2009 from Lewis & Clark Law School. While at Lewis & Clark, she was a member of the Lewis & Clark Law Review and participated in moot court. Katherine is a member of the State Bar of California and State Bar of Oregon.
Gigi Knudtson is the founder of Knudtson & Associates, formerly Knudtson & Nutter. She practices in the area of general civil litigation, including medical malpractice, health care, personal injury, products liability, premises liability, employment, and business and commercial litigation. Since commencing practice in 1984, Ms. Knudtson has had extensive experience as trial lawyer, handling complex litigation for individuals, corporations, insurance companies, and small and large businesses. Before founding her own firm, Ms. Knudtson served as managing partner for the Sacramento office of a prominent Northern California firm. Ms. Knudtson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego, and her Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law, after spending one year as a visiting student at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. Knudtson & Associates is a woman owned firm, and Ms. Knudtson is dedicated to advancing the interests of women and minorities.
Leighton Koberlein joined Knudtson & Associates in August of 2015, with a background in professional malpractice defense, employment defense, and general liability defense. Prior to joining Knudtson & Associates, Mr. Koberlein spent several years working as an attorney with a statewide insurance defense firm, where he defended businesses and professionals against a variety of claims. With Knudtson & Associates, Mr. Koberlein's primary practice focuses on representing defendants in the areas of medical malpractice, and general liability. Mr. Koberlein received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Studies-Latin from Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, and his Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law. .
